An Oklahoma transplant from Maryland, Courtney moved on a whim and a dream. Courtney grew up showing horses and learning the hard way not to tempt black Angus mamas on her family's farm. She volunteered and worked as an EMT in Maryland and Pennsylvania before moving. Now she enjoys loving on her new baby and gardening.
Originally from Coweta, OK, Corbin joined the Navy fresh out of high school and served six years as a corpsman. He was stationed with the 3rd Marines in Okinawa, Japan. When Corbin returned home, he had started school to become a heavy machinery mechanic. Soon after, Courtney told him "they were going to get married and run a cattle farm". She was right and now he spends his days chicken tending, hunting and changing diapers.
At Morgan Ranch OK, raise all of our beef from birth to butcher. We have grown to love our Murray Grey Cattle. Originally from Australia, Murray Greys were introduced to the United States by semen in 1969. The first 50% MG calves were born in 1970 and the first live imports arrived in 1972.
They are hardy, adapt quickly, and thrive in most climates. Steers finish in half the time and on half the food over most other breeds. Mature animals will eat up to 1/3 less food over many other breeds while still maintaining good condition. They are known all over the world for their excellent marbling and high yield. They typically grade choice or prime, have a 12% larger rib eye and less back fat than most other breeds, and they are one of the two breeds most desired in Japan and Korea.
We love our docile, beautiful, dual-purpose cattle and the meat they produce. We hope you join the family and love our little silver cows!
